Son Vell

Son Vell is located south of Ciutadella in the middle of a natural place in contact with Menorca's own coast. Currently, the farm is dedicated to the exploitation of arable areas. Among the existing buildings on the farm we find one that particularly attracts attention, the main house.

This house is located within the typology of the traditional architecture of the "Casas del senyor". With a language of Palladian origin influenced by the Venetian phenomenon of canal architecture, we place to the south a facade with arcades and porous galleries fleeing the tramontana. This architecture originating in Britain was born in response to enlightened ideas, such as the search for harmony and proportion.
