Palacio de
Marqués de santa cruz

LOCATION: castropol, ASTURIAS
SURFACE AREA: 1700 M2
INTEGRAL REFURBISHMENT

The palace was built in the late sixteenth century and was abode of the Marquises of Santa Cruz, after whom it is named. Most of the factory we see today belongs to the expansion carried out in the seventeenth century, given that only the tower is preserved from the initial construction.

The intervention is marked by respect for the existing, this principle guides the entire project process, from materiality to distribution. Much of the spaces are preserved in their original state and the communication and use of the palace is improved by connecting the ground floor with the rest of the building by means of a new staircase that acts as an articulating element.
